How do I use my gas cylinder safely?

When connecting or changing a gas cylinder, do not smoke and there must be no open fire nearby.
Store gas bottles outside, under a canopy or in a well ventilated room.
The gas cylinder must not be exposed to a temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius.
Store the gas bottle upright, in the shade, preferably in a cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.
In the event of a fire, close the gas tap as quickly as possible and remove the gas bottle. If this is not possible, cool the gas bottle with water from a safe distance. Don’t take any risks and call the emergency number in the event of a fire.
For a safe gas bottle, go to an approved sales point. Filled gas bottles must always be sealed. Do not fill gas bottles at a petrol station, this is unsafe and punishable.
Terras & Co offers an extra safety feature with the GasStop. The GasStop is an additional valve with test button and display, which you mount between the gas bottle and the pressure regulator. The GasStop protects against larger gas leaks. You can also use the gasStop to detect smaller leaks and see how much gas is left in the bottle.

Despite the risks associated with unsafe use, LPG is one of the safest fuels. More accidents occur due to unsafe use of:
– liquid fuels when starting a fire,
– fire due to sparks from a wood fire and excessive heat from a wood fire (heat radiation or flue gases) in an unsuitable location.
